Remade

Remade Anatomy is the contemporary dance program of hybrid performance company Hydra Poesis. In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of Hydra’s work, Remade seeks to explore the body in everyday action, physical contest and complex conflict through combinations of choreography, bodyart, design and media.

The term Remade is a reference to the dystopic and industrial fusions of the body with machinery and animals in the writings of novelist China Mieville and touches on the intent to make text heavy dance - dance that is loaded with references to revolutionary contemporary culture.

Below is some early process footage from the 2009 Remade development commissioned by Steamworks Productions in associate with Live@Woodside.
